When the role at Seedrs came up, it was the ideal role to marry both Thomas’s legal background with his commercial and entrepreneurial intuition. Thomas’s official title is Chief Investment Officer. This role sees him leading the investment team. Thomas is responsible for the on boarding of businesses who are looking to raise money all the way through to closing their round, preparing and executing the legal documentation and then monitoring each successfully funded company in Seedrs’s portfolio to ensure that the investors are being protected. Seeing huge potential in the sector, Thomas wants to take Seedrs and equity crowdfunding into the mainstream, and in the process gain the experience of helping a company grow incredibly fast as well as being able to deal with the challenges that this brings.
Tom heads up the Campaigns team at Seedrs. His goal is to cement Seedrs’ position as the credible player in the equity crowdfunding market, attract the very best deals to the Seedrs platform, ensure that the company is positioned as an authoritative voice in the alternative finance world and scale its offering to new populations traditionally under-served by financial services.
He believes that companies should have the opportunity to engage and build community through crowd participation, offering them the opportunity to participate in funding rounds, and be part of the business’ success.
Prior to joining Seedrs, Tom worked in advertising as Account Director at top global agencies, before following his passion for startups. He holds a BSc Hons in Economics from the University of Bristol.
Seedrs is Europe's largest equity crowdfunding platform which successfully funded over 460 deals with over 200M€ invested. The maximum raise on Seedrs is 5M€ with an investor base of more than 160 000. Seedrs differentiates itself by co-investing along BAs and VCs. This works very well because we operate under a banking license (money is secure) and a nominee structure (one legal shareholder).
