In 2011, Arjen Strijker founded Capital On Stage – an unconventional venture capital conference that accelerates deal-flow for its participants (held annually in New York, London, Berlin, Singapore, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv).
Capital On Stage brings together the worlds’ leading venture capitalists with growth-stage Internet companies actively raising €500k-€10m. 350+ leading ventures capital funds have presented on stage so far, such as NEA, Accel Partners, Balderton, Index Ventures, Fidelity Growth Capital, Greycroft, Jerusalem Venture Partners.
Arjen has over 14 years of (new) business development and leadership experience, covering the Internet, media, and venture funding space, having started his career at Red Herring Inc in Sales. Since 2001, Arjen has connected thousands of professionals with each other, creating new business opportunities between them - mostly increasing their talent pool and deal-flow. He is well-connected in venture capital, private equity, legal, and startup / entrepreneur scene within the finance, technology, media, and Internet space.
Arjen holds Advisory Board roles at Magnr.com (#1 cryptocurrency investment bank / incl BitCoin trading platform, $100m+ turnover in 2015) and Roomlr.com (#1 booking platform in the holiday homes and apartments market in EurAsia). He owns a BBA in International Hotel Management from Stenden University in the Netherlands, and an MSc in Organisational Change from Manchester University. Arjen lives in Zurich, Switzerland since 2005.
Wouter is part of the core team of Capital On Stage. As Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) he is responsible for managing the marketing & brand team and related efforts.
Before joining Capital On Stage Wouter worked with Deloitte for 12 years. As Brand Manager for Deloitte Digital, Wouter lead all marketing related efforts.
He started his career as a recruiter. Moving up as recruiting manager he started loving the more strategic and creative/ online side of his work: employer branding, program & campaign management and e-recruitment. In 2009, Wouter took over the role of Employer Brand Manager in the Dutch firm. After a 2 year secondment in New York City he transitioned to the brand and marketing department. In his last role at Deloitte, Wouter was responsible for building the Deloitte Digital brand in the Netherlands.
Wouter is well connected in the Dutch consulting and startup scene. He was a guest speaker at the bigger (employer) brand conferences in the Netherlands. He won a Dutch Deloitte innovation award with his employee referral project.
